MY STORY
Hello, my name is Michael Erik Kartal. I am South African. For over 14 years, I have worked across multiple roles in fund management and business development. At present, I work at the Multicoin Capital, Digital Currency Group where I offered extensive experience and expertise in managing equity portfolios within global markets. I worked at Siemens, one of the world’s biggest producers of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies and solutions from 2005 until 2012.
I started out my career as an engineer because of a love for systems, structures and exact measurements. That mindset would eventually take me further. When I ventured into a corporate career, I was driven by a need to bring some of these exactness to business.
So I studied for an MBA- which I think is a great step for every engineer. But I didn’t stop there because I started to see how much data and the analysis of data impact businesses. After all, as Peter Drucker says, ‘if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it”
I have a solid background in financial/data analysis, product and process design, performance management as well as business development. This kind of experience translates into how I work. I am a big believer in using insights and analytics to make decisions that are practical and actionable.
I also love the LEAN principles; it helps define value, map the value stream and create flow using a pull system. At the heart LEAN is discipline and efficiency in the workplace.

As a financial adviser, I help in creating strategies for eliminating financial risk and building wealth over the long term. I can give you a game plan that puts you on track to achieve your financial goals.
I also provide financial advice and services to private and corporate clients about a range of investment matters, including buying and selling investment trusts and shares or bonds, to help these clients invest their money in the best places.
